Luxembourg language classes

In order to satisfy a demand for Luxembourg language learning in London, I set up weekly classes in 2009. There were six courses in all. The lessons took place on Saturdays from 10.00am to 12.00pm, originally in Fleet Street, then in Cheapside, in the City of London.

The lessons were primarily aimed at novices, and were designed for people with a Luxembourgish partner, former students of the European and International Schools, individuals wanting to apply for citizenship, and for all those with an interest in Lëtzebuergesch.

As no satisfactory textbooks could be found, I compiled hundreds of pages of my own handouts, covering the vocabulary, grammar and usage of the Luxembourg language. In addition, the classes touched on the geography, history and customs peculiar to the Grand Duchy.

The students wrote these glowing reviews.

Please note that there are currently no classes, and that none have been scheduled for the foreseeable future.

The courses would not have been possible without the generous support of Rosetta Translation

Many of my former students regularly attend the monthly meetings of the Luxembourg Friends in London which I organise.
